At North Nova, we have multiple rehearsal and performance spaces where our students can achieve their very best as young learners, musicians and performers. These spaces host all Music classes, Audio classes, Fine Arts courses like Drama and Dance, as well as all NNEC Music Program rehearsals. We strive to make these spaces inclusive, barrier-free, and safe: allowing students to participate, be creative, and feel comfortable.
The "Big" Music Room
This large music room is used for our 10-12 classes and rehearsals and includes three practices rooms as well as an instrument storage room.
The "Grade 9" Music Room
The "Grade 9" music room is home to our Explore Music 9 classes and small ensemble rehearsals. This space also houses our class set of acoustic guitars and electric keyboards.
The Presentation Centre
The NNEC Presentation Centre is a 336 seat theatre with retractable seats, a fully equipped sound and light set-up with separate control rooms,
and a Proscenium-style stage. Our annual school musical, NNEC Music concerts, and class showcases take place on this stage which also boasts a beautiful YAMAHA grand piano. We also host guest performers throughout the year, offering professional concert experiences to NNEC Music students.
The Presentation Centre is home to several upgrades funded by our annual school musicals, including a stage projector and screen and updated remote lighting operation. When you support our school shows, you support the continued use of this space for musical pursuits in our community!
